Arby's ­-- its big hat and all -- is gone from 809 N. Lake St. in Aurora, where it served up roast beef sandwiches for just more than 40 years. The fast-food restaurant north of Illinois Avenue was a local landmark with its large lit sign that boasted of its delicious roast beef.

The number of Americans traveling away from home for Thanksgiving will be up only slightly this year from 2008, according to a report from the AAA auto club.
