Center for History: Fairways, Green & Clubs golf exhibit features American golf from the 1890s to the 1940s presented in the atmosphere of a vintage clubhouse. The Disaster, Courage & Silence exhibit immortalizes the capsizing of the SS Eastland in 1915. DuPage County Historical Museum: Exhibits will take you on a journey through 150 years of history, a walk in the woods, an 1890's family sitting room and an activity area all about measurement. Greene Valley Forest Preserve: Greene Valley Hill is open to the public and will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31. Visitors can reach the hilltop by car, and parking is available at the summit. The hilltop stands 190 feet above land surface, the equivalent of 980 feet above sea level. Model-glider and sailplane enthusiasts can launch their nonpowered crafts at the hilltop. A valid model-aircraft permit is required and can be obtained through Visitor Services.
