• Battery and weapons charges: Samuel C. Williams, 22, of Chicago, was arrested Tuesday on multiple felony charges after he allegedly broke his girlfriend's nose, fled from and fought with police and was caught trying to get rid of a handgun in the process, police said. Williams allegedly fled from police as they responded to a call of a domestic dispute about 10:45 p.m. Monday on Oxford Drive. When a security guard and a Carpentersville police officer chased Williams, he allegedly pulled out a loaded .25 caliber handgun, tossed it in the grass and then began pushing and kicking the officer and the guard, police said. Williams also is accused of punching his girlfriend in the face. She was transported to Sherman Hospital, where she was treated for a broken nose, police said. William's bail was set at $90,000.
• Residential burglary: An Xbox 360 video game console, about 15 DVDs and three baseball caps were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Channing Street Monday afternoon.

• Aggravated battery charges: David L. Russell, 33, of 339 Elm St., was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of aggravated domestic battery and two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery after he allegedly choked and pushed a woman, police said. His bail was set at $50,000.

• Battery charges: Takiyah M. Cotton, 18, of 320 Watch Court, was arrested Tuesday on charges of felony aggravated domestic battery and misdemeanor battery after she stabbed a family member in the chest with a steak knife, police said. Cotton's bail was set at $30,000.
