Golf season continues for Schneider -- Streamwood High's Carly Schneider will compete in this year's Optimist International Tournament of Champions on Saturday and Sunday at Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge in Winter Garden, Fla. Schneider will compete in the girls 14-18 age division.

This year's Tournament of Champions is a 36-hole, stroke-play invitational that will showcase some of the most talented young players in the world. Golfers from 19 states, two Canadian provinces and 10 other nations will compete in the fifth annual tournament.

Players were invited to apply for a spot in the tournament based on their performance in Optimist-sponsored tournaments and other leading tournaments on the junior golf circuit.

Schneider tied for 20th at last month's Class AA State Finals in Carbondale.
