Two Aurora police officers were injured when their squads hit each other late Wednesday night on the city's West Side.
According to a police report, Officer Alexandra Martyn, 26, was driving a marked squad car north on Highland Avenue toward the intersection with Spruce Street at 11:55 p.m. The lights on her squad car were activated, police said.
Officer Adam Webb, 32, was driving on Spruce Street toward the same intersection in an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria squad car, when he failed to yield at the intersection, police said. The lights on his squad also were activated at the time, police said.
The squad cars collided, and Martyn suffered injuries to her knees and right hand. She was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center, police said. Webb suffered back and neck pain and also was taken to Rush-Copley, police said. Hospital officials confirmed they both were treated and released.
No tickets were issued in the collision, according to the report.
